Sex toys/marital aids

Home ResourcesSex toys/marital aids

Why sex toys

Sex toys, sometimes politely referred to as marital aids, are a way to enhance sexual connection, increase sexual satisfaction, explore personal desire, and for some people with a disability sex toys make sex viable. Sex toys come in a wide variety of options:

  • Internal vibrators
  • External vibrators
  • Lube
  • Restraints and blindfolds
  • Cock rings
  • Sleeves
  • Ramps and furniture
  • Anal toys
  • Harnesses and strap-ons
  • Entertainment, erotica, DVDs

There are plenty of different kinds of ways to enhance and bring something novel into the bedroom. Sex toys can be a part of solo play and also a wonderful way to bring something new into a sexual relationship. Finding and adding sex toys is an amazing way to enhance an already fantastic sex life.

Where to buy

Frequently, sex shops are thought of as seedy locations, with staff that have limited information, and where no one makes eye contact. Thankfully many shops have opened their doors to become inviting locations with knowledgeable staff. Some shops are female owned feminist minded locations that invite customers to ask questions about products without judgement.

Pure Pleasure in Santa CruzOne shop I would suggest for locals in Santa Cruz is Pure Pleasure. Pure Pleasure is located in Santa Cruz, California, and is locally owned by mother and daughter team Amy and Janis Baldwin. The inviting sex shop, with knowledgeable staff and a wide variety of products (both in store and online), offers classes on a variety of topics from Amy Baldwin and guest speakers. Check them out for a fantastic shopping experience.
